Thank you for signing up for Winter Curling Leagues!!!
Please note: we tried to accommodate everyone's schedules the best we could. If you did not get your preferred time slot every week, it is likely that the team you are playing had opposing time constraints. We tried to meet everyone in the middle as often as possible. Thank you for understanding!!
Tuesday Night Winter Leagues:
We currently have 7 teams signed up for the Tuesday Night Curling League. Because of the uneven number, each team will receive one bye week during the season.
We will be taking a break from curling on Tuesday, March 17th in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Join us that evening for our St. Patrick’s Day Party instead of league play.
Curling will resume on Tuesday, March 24th. On Tuesday, March 31st, the top four Tuesday night teams will compete in the Tuesday Night Championship Games. The winning team will then be invited back on Saturday, April 4th to defend their title against the Wednesday Night Champions. Our Winter Curling Party will take place on Saturday, April 4th, alongside the Wednesday Night Championship games and Final Winter League Championship game*.
Wednesday Night Winter Leagues:
We have 10 teams signed up for Wednesday nights. Games will be played every week straight through with no bye-weeks or breaks. Championship games will be held on April 4th. The top 4 Wednesday night teams will battle it out for Wednesday Night Champs and the winner will defend their title against the Tuesday Night Champions in the final game on Saturday. We will have our curling party on the same day beginning at 2pm*.
*Championship games and curling party dates and times are subject to change.

Street curling is a modified version of the Olympic sport of curling with one major difference - synthetic ice! So, it can be played no matter the temperature. This also means no sweeping, so social distancing can be maintained.
Teams determine who has the hammer (last stone) in the opening end by a coin toss. Having the last stone is an advantage. Stones are delivered in an alternating manner. Yellow, blue, yellow, blue, or vice versa, until all eight stones are played.
Once all eight stones are played an end is complete and scoring is tabulated. A street curling game typically consists of ten ends (rounds).
The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent. At the completion of each end, a team scores one point for each stone that is closer to the button (the center of the rings) than the closest stone to the button of the opposing team. Only stones that are in, or touching the rings when viewed from overhead, are eligible to score. Only one team can score per end. Games ending in a tie, remain a tie except for during championship games where one end will determine the winner and a coin will be tossed to determine the hammer.
